Mobile phones are almost universally owned & new research shows nearly two thirds of us now also own a laptop. A unique new security tag called nio™ uses existing Bluetooth technology on Mobile phones to warn owners the moment a valuable item is about to go missing.

Encryption, password protection and remote 'kill' services all attempt to protect your data after it's gone. nio™ helps prevent loss by alerting you the moment your data is at risk. Losing a set of keys, mobile phone, Blackberry or laptop is a costly, stressful and time consuming experience. You may even breach corporate security regulations or become a victim of identity theft.

nio™ is a key ring sized tag and software application. A text downloads the software to your mobile allowing you to create a personalised security zone between your mobile and your tagged valuable item. An alarm sounds on the tag and the mobile if either device moves beyond this zone. The software can control more than one nio™ tag allowing you to set different security zones for all of your items. A calendar feature even allows you to preset when your tag is active - ideal for the commute to work.

The uses are as diverse as the data we carry around. Leave your mobile in a restaurant, meeting room or on a train and a nio™ tag on your keys will alarm as you walk away. If someone tries to steal your tagged laptop bag in a busy environment or from your car both the bag & your mobile will alarm. Accidently drop a tagged data stick as you run to catch a train and your mobile will alarm.
