Algeria and Tunisia: twinning universities

Nineteen conventions on cooperation and on inter-university institutions twinning in Algeria and Tunisia were signed Saturday at the end of the 1st conference of academics and researchers from both countries held on 27 and 28 March in Tozeur (south-west of Tunisia).
These documents are centred the intensification of scientific cooperation, exchange of expertise and the organization of training and joint research projects between the two countries.

The symposium offered an opportunity for participants, and Tunisian and Algerian university researchers, to exchange information on systems of university education, scientific and technology research in their respective countries, and discuss themes of common interest.

Algeria has a developed educational system based on European methodologies with strong efficient research in mathematics and technology. The estimated number universities and colleges for around 130. The following are among the main universities:

·    Ecole Nationale d'Administration à Alger
·    Ecole Nationale Polytechnique
·    University of Blida

·    University of Sciences and Technology Houari Boumediène
·    University of Mostaganem
·    University of Oran
·    Es-senia University
·    Mentouri University
