Bahrain- Syria: Adoption of Dialogue Principle & Openness

Bahrain King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and President Bashar al-Assad discussed in Manama the latest developments in the region and the detente in international relations in the light of the advent of Obama's Administration, especially that the most important characteristic of this stage is the end of dictations and adoption of the principle of dialogue and openness to all countries in the region.

King Hamad stressed the importance of the efforts made by President al-Assad to establish a unified Arab method towards the major issues and challenges facing the Arab nation and the impact that such policy might have regarding the treatment of others with the Arab and their support for the Arab rights.

The two sides agreed on the importance of continued coordination in all issues that are of interest to the two brotherly countries and to all Arabs.

The meeting was attended by members of two countries' official delegations.

Later, President al-Assad met with the Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Bahraini defense forces Sheikh Salman bin Hamad Al Kahlifa.

The President was also received by Sheikh Khaled Bin Ahmad Bin Salman Al Khalifa, Foreign Minister, Sheikh Khaled Bin Ahmad Bin Mohammad and the King's Advisor for Media Affairs Nabil Bin Yacob al-Himr, Minister of Culture and Information, Sheikha Mai Bint Mohammad Al Khalifa.
