Cooperation Agreement between ISESCO and Kuwaiti Ministry of Awqaf

The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) represented by its Director General Dr Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri and the Kuwaiti Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, represented by its Undersecretary Dr Adel Abdullah Al-Fallah, signed a cooperation agreement for 2009. The two sides agreed to run and develop the Department of the Arabic Language and Islamic Studies at the Moscow Institute of Islamic Civilization, affiliated with the Moscow State University . They also decided to hold the eighth Meeting of the Heads of Islamic Cultural Centres and Associations in Latin America and the Caribbean in Paraguay next October.

Besides, the two parties agreed on supporting the Islamic cultural centres of Muslims outside the Islamic world and convening the seventh Meeting of the Heads of the Islamic Cultural Centres and Associations in South-East Asia and the Pacific in Australia next October. They also decided to support ISESCO Chair for Islamic Culture, Dialogue and Moderation at the University of Rotterdam ; and to hold an international symposium in India next July on the protection of the rights of the Muslim communities through the materialization of the relevant international legal texts.

Among other items of the cooperation programme is the organization of four training sessions for imams in Albania , the Netherlands , Germany and Belgium on the dissemination of the values of dialogue, middles stance and moderation

Mr. Salah Al-Baijan, ambassador of the State of Kuwait to Rabat , attended the signature ceremony.
