The Islamic Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organisation (ISESCO), in association with the Syrian Arab Republic Museum and Antiquities Directorate and the Syrian National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, will organise, from 18 to 21 May 2009 in Damascus , a training session in the interest of Iraqi museum staff on the theme "Archaeological Survey of Historical Iraqi Buildings”.

The training session, held under the patronage of the Syrian culture minister, seeks to contribute towards continuous training of staff serving in the field of cultural heritage in the Republic of Iraq , modernise the technical materials used in the archaeological survey of historical buildings, and enhance exchange of experience and expertise in this area.

ISESCO will be represented in this session, in which will take part a host of Iraqi archaeological survey staff, by Dr Ghasan Saleh, expert at ISESCO Regional Office in Sharjah.
