EU launches Support Programme for implementation of Algeria Association Agreement

The EU Delegation in Algeria has launched the Support Programme for the implementation of the Association Agreement, with a seminar organised in collaboration with the Algerian Commerce Ministry.

According to a Delegation press release, the Support Programme gives the Algerian government greater flexibility to use available EU funds, according to the specific needs of institutions charged with implementing the Association Agreement. It also sees the introduction for the first time in Algeria of the Twinning and TAIEX instruments, allowing officials from member states to share their expertise with Algerian institutions.

Similar programmes exist in other neighbourhood countries, allowing Algeria to benefit not only from the expertise put at its disposal in the context of the support programme, but also from the cumulative experience in the region.
