Youth in Lebanon and Jordan Promote Cultural Heritage

The EU funded project "Foundations for a Strong Future: Youth in Lebanon and Jordan Promote Cultural Heritage" has been launched at the Lebanese National Museum in the presence of Lebanese Culture Minister Tammam Salam and the Head of the EU Delegation to Lebanon, Ambassador Patrick Laurent.

The “Foundations for a Strong Future: Youth in Lebanon and Jordan Promote Cultural Heritage” project is funded by the European Union in the framework of the Euromed Heritage Programme and managed by Mercy Corps in partnership with APSAD and The National Museum. A Delegation press release said it would sponsor increased accessibility to and sharing of cultural heritage to build pride and knowledge among youth and children in Lebanon and Jordan.

One hundred and twenty young people from Lebanon and Jordan will be selected and identified to capture and present their communities’ cultural heritage through local research, multimedia exhibits and community outreach. In addition to creating learning opportunities at the national museums, the project will also provide tools and training for educators to enable them to make cultural heritage more accessible for young people.
