Omani Ministry of Manpower recently awarded Oman Air with a commemorative plaque in recognition of its Omanisation efforts in an event that was held under the aegis of HE Maqbool Bin Ali Sultan Minister of Commerce and Industry at Al Bustan Palace Hotel. The grand event was attended by many ministers and high-ranking officials of Government and Private Organisations.

Zahran Al Hinai, Human Resources Manager, received the award on behalf of Oman Air. Al Hinai expressed his thanks to the Ministry of Manpower for assisting Oman Air on their Omanisation efforts and said that this award is yet another acknowledgment by the Ministry of Manpower of the Company's Omanisation policies.

Al Hinai added:  "Oman Air management has implemented many strategies to attract more qualified Omani cadres to join the company and created very attractive career plans to develop its staff and to update their knowledge to cope with the changing business environment. Our management is proud to see Omani cadres holding very senior positions in the company in different divisions and departments."

Oman Air's Corporate Communications and Media (CC&M) Department highlighted that Oman Air has been an active front-runner in adopting Omanisation policies to be implemented in line with His Majesty's vision on empowering Omani youth.

"With the Company marked for expansion, there have arisen vacancies across various departments and spanning different operations. As the National Carrier of Oman and with the support of the government, Oman Air has high plans in this regard that will fructify with the expansion plans." CC&M noted.

CC&M also noted that the Aviation industry offers some of the most challenging jobs, moreover the Omani cadres employed with Oman Air in many key positions have proven their mettle by rising up to these challenges.

In conclusion, Oman Air's Corporate Communications and Media Department recalled His Majesty Sultan Qaboos’ address to Oman Council on 25 September 2001, which left no-one in any doubt that he had seen the future and that, with urgent action to encourage Omanis to take their own livelihoods into their hands.

“Work is no longer a personal hobby but it is indeed part and parcel of worship, and therefore it should be performed with sincerity, perfection and honour.”
