Israeli soldiers kill 4 Palestinians

Israeli soldiers have killed 4 Palestinians at Israel's border with the southern Gaza Strip, Israel's military said.

At least another 12 Palestinians were wounded in the clash near the Nahal Oz crossing with Israel on Monday, medical officials said. Ambulances were unable to get to the spot because of continuing fighting.

An Israeli army spokesman said soldiers clashed with the Palestinians who opened fire near the heavily fortified frontier between Israel and Gaza, which is governed by Hamas.

Up to 10 fighters confronted the Israeli forces and used explosives against one of the Israeli units in the attack, according to Israeli military sources.

No troops were reported been killed.

The impoverished Palestinian coastal silver which has long been under a tight Israeli siege has witnessed numerous attacks by the Israeli forces since Tel Aviv ended its 22-day war in the Strip in mid January.
The offensive killed over 1350 Palestinians and injured many more including a large number of women and children. (AFP , Aljazeera, Press TV)
