On peace mission, Solana heads to Middle East

Javier Solana is undertaking a mission to the Middle East from 10-14 June, which will take him to Israel, the Palestinian Territories, Lebanon and Egypt at a time when the international community is stepping up its efforts to relaunch the peace process.

The EU High Representative for the CFSP will be in Israel on 10-11 June, the Palestinian Territories from 11-12 June, in Lebanon on 12-13 June and Egypt on Sunday, 14 June.

A Council press release said Mr Solana would hold talks with heads of state and government, and senior officials across the region.
