EU organises Syrian study visit to Cairo

The EU-funded EuroMed Innovation & Technology Programme, Medibtikar, is organising a Syrian study visit to Cairo, Egypt on 23–25 June 2009. This study visit is offered to selected senior officials of the Syrian Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Scientific Research.

A press release said the Syrian delegates would hold meetings and discussions with Egyptian Officials from the Ministry of Industry and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. These meetings will focus on what has been done to stimulate the environment of innovation in Egypt, how to create linkages between industry and universities and what kind of support has been given in order to create such cooperation to motivate entrepreneurship in Egypt.

Medibtikar aims to provide the Mediterranean Partner Countries with new and improved instruments that will stimulate innovation and networking across the region, between the countries of the region and with the EU states. It also encourages good practice in technology and knowledge transfer by administrations, enterprises, industry federations, chambers of commerce etc.
