Abu Dhabi Media purchases High Definition DSNG from Vislink News

Vislink News and Entertainment announces another significant deal; the sale of a High Definition Advent Flyaway to the Abu Dhabi Media Company, one of the fastest growing, multi-platform media organisations in the region.
The Abu Dhabi Media Company is buying an HD Mantis system with a 1.9 metre antenna and a complete redundant electronics system from the Advent 5000 series.

The 1.9 Mantis is the one of the larger models in Advent's portable satellite uplink range. All of these flyaways are designed to be carried on a plane as checked-in baggage. They range from a 1.0 model which packs into one flight case, up to the largest antenna at 2.4 metres. The Mantis flyaway is designed for quick response newsgathering and communications can be deployed in 15 minutes. It is a popular choice for Broadcasters in the Middle East.

The Advent 5000 series satellite electronics systems are unique in that they use only half of the width of a standard 19 inch rack, yet they support High Definition transmissions.

Vislink is the UK-based broadcast equipment manufacturer which owns three established broadcast equipment brands: the Link wireless camera systems, the MRC microwave communications equipment and the Advent satellite uplinks.

Abu Dhabi Media Company is preparing itself to meet the future requirement of covering various events in High Definition and will use its Advent Flyaway for both SD and HD DSNG operations.

Commenting, Mather Al Ali, Vislink's General Manager for the Middle East and North African regions, says:
'This is a very important account for Vislink. We are particularly pleased to be working with the Abu Dhabi Media Corporation because they are highly respected among broadcasters for the quality of their engineering team. They have earned a reputation for working with cutting edge technologies and introducing them successfully into their operations.'
Derek Holland, Director of Broadcast Technology at Abu Dhabi Media Company, says, 'We have selected Advent for our DSNG flyaway because it is well-engineered and easy to operate and answers our High Definition requirements very well. We are particularly interested in Vislink's 5000 Series electronics which is probably the smallest on the market and with its HD capability makes a very neat solution for mobile newsgathering.'

Ahmed Al Menhali, Head of Transmission Operations at Abu Dhabi Media Company, also commented, 'Advent was a natural choice to meet our DSNG requirements. We have reliably used Vislink's equipment in the field for a number of years. Our HD aspiration is based on delivering high quality content to our regional viewers as well as meeting the market trends.
