Foundation warns: Al-Aqsa Mosque may collapse

The holy Al-Aqsa mosque may eventually fall apart as a result of construction work by the Israelis, a leading Islamic figure sounded the alarm bell.

The Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors for the International Al-Quds Foundation, Syrian branch Dr. Imad Eddin Al-Rashid warned Sunday of the danger of Al-Aqsa Mosque collapse as a result of Israeli occupation force continuous digging underneath the mosque in search of the so-called "missing temple." Al-Rashid made his remarks during a lecture he gave in Reda Saeed center marking the anniversary of Al-Quds being the Arab cultural capital for the 2009 year.

The official noted in his lecture on the fire which broke out at the hands of Israeli Denis Michael Rohn in August 21, 1969 which caused serious damage in the building of the mosque, the pillars, and the old parts of the dome.

Al-Rashid denounced Israeli court sentence, which acquitted Rohn despite his statement upon his arrest where he justified his acts as part of what his religious duty called upon him
