Intel Corporation has concluded its bi-annual Intel Channel Conference (ICC) in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, hosting Palestinian companies for the first time, as part of the company's engagement with the US-Palestine Partnership. Seeking to provide companies and entrepreneurs from Jordan and Palestine with insight on the latest technologies available and market development strategies, the conference encompassed a keynote address and interactive sessions about Intel's latest innovations.

Bringing leading IT practitioners together for education seminars and workshops, the annual conference held across the Middle East, aims to assist channel customers in developing  tools to deliver new and emerging technologies, whilst also illustrating Intel's 2010 product roadmap.

Commenting on the conference, Mohamed Amer, Intel Country Manager, Levant and North Africa said, "The Middle East is a fast-paced market and it is important for local companies to be provided with a forum through which they can network and learn more about the latest technologies available.

"We have two main objectives for the Intel Channel Conference; highlight local innovation and recognize the entrepreneurial expertise of Palestinian and Jordanian companies, and introduce the latest Intel Core i7 and Core i5 family of processors.

"By educating our channel partners on the newest technologies available, we aim to help them transition to the next generation of technology. What the channel members learn today will help them create tomorrow for their customers," Amer added.

Participants attending the conference were provided with a preview of Intel's 2010 product roadmap, which included; a desktop session highlighting the benefits of Intel Corei7 processors, a server session focusing on Xeon 5500, based on Nehalem micro-architectures. Channel Partners were also invited to a session regarding the importance and benefits of Intel's Channel Program, one of the largest partners programs worldwide with over 250 thousand member companies. Over the last two years, the Jordanian local IT channel led the digital transition to the next generation and achieved a year-on-year growth rate of 27% with a CPU revenue growth at 53%.

"We are working with the Palestine IT Association as part of its efforts to provide members with linkage to international IT companies in a bid to keep them abreast of the IT evolution," concluded Amer.
