Abu Dhabi: ADACH announce the list of best 100 poets to participate in Million’s Poet competition

The Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH) has announced the list of 100 poets to participate in the fourth season of Million’s Poet TV competition.

The jury panel of the largest Nabati poetry competition in the region has chosen 100 best poets from thousands Arab registered in the competition which is broadcast on Abu Dhabi TV every Wednesday from Al Raha Beach Theater in the capital.

After many meetings and discussions between members of the jury panel which consisted of specialists in Nabati poetry (dialect Arabic): Dr Ghassan Al Hasan, Sultan Al Amimi and Hamad Al Saeed in addition to the competition advisers: Bader Safouq and Turki Al Murakhi, the 100 poets list was finalized based on their poetical talents and their performance at the auditions took place at Abu Dhabi, Amman and Kuwait two month ago.

Sultan Al Amimi, Director of the Poetry Academy at ADACH said “the Academy has contacted the 100 poets already to invite them to Abu Dhabi this week where they will be tested for the last time to choose the best 48 poets who will compete in the competition live in new procedures to add more enthusiasm to the competition”.

The list contains of poets from 12 Arab countries as fallows: 8 from UAE, 16 from Kuwait, 4 from Qatar, 2 from Bahrain, 7 from Oman, 45 from Saudi Arabia, 3 from Yemen, 8 from Jordan, 1 from Tunisia, 1 from Sudan, 2 from Iraq and 3 from Syria.

On the other hand Abu Dhabi TV started last week broadcasting the recorded episodes of the competition at 10:30 PM UAE local time every Wednesday while the live episodes will be broadcast mid-December.
