Oman signs MoU on air transport with Philippines

The Sultanate and the Philippines have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on amending a 1992 aviation transport services agreement.
The step aims to cope with the latest developments in the field and encourage national air carriers to operate new routes in the region. The MoU was inked during the talks held at Muscat International Airport yesterday.

It was signed from the Omani side by Abdulrahim bin Salim al Haremi, Director General of Meteorology and Aviation, Ministry of Transport and Communications, and Doroteo A Reyes, Under-Secretary of the Transport and Communications Ministry in the Philippines.

The MoU includes the Sultanate"s national carrier"s right to operate three weekly flights to Manila and a 4th flight to link the cities of Manila and Clark, in addition to seven weekly flights to Clark and four weekly flights to the city of Cebu in return for the Philippines national carrier"s right to operate four weekly flights to Muscat and Salalah. National carriers specified for the two sides are Oman Air and Philippines Airlines . (omannet)
