Sharjah Chamber encourages business to implement programs to boost productivity in UAE

The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) is calling on the local business sector to provide its employees with more benefits and programs that can lead to increased productivity and help stimulate more economic activity in the emirate. The call was made during the launch of a new group medical insurance program for the chamber's associate members from the private sector. The new program, which follows a strategic partnership with the Al Buhaira National Insurance Company, is in line with SCCI's commitment to reinforce Sharjah's position as an investment-friendly destination and an ideal place to reside and work.

Under the terms of the agreement, Al Buhaira National Insurance Company will provide competitive and special discounted rates for SCCI associate members availing the group medical insurance program. The insurance policy, which is covered by an accredited medical network spread across Sharjah and the rest of the UAE, is being offered in three categories and covers pre-existing diseases or medical conditions as well. The program will allow employees of the associate member companies to avail quality healthcare services in hospitals, clinics and medical centers, while also benefiting from special discounted rates at laboratories and pharmacies. An optional scheme for medical treatment outside of the UAE is also being offered for the insurance program.

Hussein Mohammad Al Mahmoudi, Director General, SCCI, said, "The SCCI recognizes the importance of providing employees with benefits and programs that can boost their morale and increase productivity. Our partnership with Al Buhaira National Insurance Company allows our associate members to give their employees a beneficial medical insurance plan that not only aims to boost morale and productivity but also assures them of high quality medical care when needed. This initiative complements the SCCI's efforts to promote Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs among our members and reaffirms our steadfast commitment to promote Sharjah as a favourable investment venue with an ideal work environment for skilled human resources. We are encouraging our members to avail of this special program. Moreover, we acknowledge the support given by the Al Buhaira National Insurance Company in helping us promote the chamber's strategy in boosting productivity and economic activity in Sharjah."

Khalid Bin Butti Bin Obaid, Assistant Director General for Membership & Branches Affairs, SCCI, said, "This initiative demonstrates SCCI's commitment to reinforce its ties with Sharjah's business sector and to aid in the development of the emirate's human resources sector - aiming to create a pool of highly-skilled and competitive workforce that can help bolster Sharjah's overall development. This new program falls in line with the vision of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, of investing in human resource skills and development to complement the growing number of high-profile infrastructure and investment projects coming into the emirate. Moreover, our partnership with Al Buhaira National Insurance Company seeks to provide Sharjah employees a feeling of confidence and security; further encouraging them to join the efforts to promote local economic diversification, competitiveness, and economic growth."
