ADACH presents Rafael Amargo Flamenco show in Abu Dhabi

UAE (Abu Dhabi) - The Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH) is presenting two nights with Flamenco superstar Rafael Amargo, as part of the year long program World Stage.

Amargo is a movie star in Europe, a regular face on glossy magazine covers throughout the continent and one of the best-known flamenco dancers and choreographers, critically acclaimed for bringing flamenco into the 21st century.

After perfecting his dancing style with such flamenco luminaries as Alejandro Granados, Ciro, Manolete, El Güito, Antonio Canales and Adrián Galia, Rafael Amargo was able to complete this training with his experience as a solo dancer in the dance companies of Antonio Canales, El Güito, Luisillo, María Rosa, Mario Maya, Rafael Aguilar, La Chunga and in Karine Saporte´s contemporary dance company.

Rafael Amargo founded his Flamenco Company ten years ago, and since then, he has worked in the most important Theaters, Festivals and Shows Worldwide. He has also received 4 Max Awards (Highest distinction of the Spanish Scenic Arts): two awards as Best Dancer and Best Dancing Show for “AMARGO”, one Best Dancer Award for “EL AMOR BRUJO”, and one Best Dancer Award for “POETA EN NUEVA YORK, a show which has also been awarded as Best Show of the Decade by the readers of the most important newspaper in Spain EL PAIS. He has also received the POSITANO LEONIDE MASSINE AWARD (Highest Dance distinction in Italy), granted to the most important world dancers.

The reputation he has earned is such that he is invited by the world’s leading companies to create choreographies on order: for the Nuevo Ballet Español, with Rafaela Carrasco and Florencio Campos, and for the opening of the Festival de Teatro Clásico (Classical Theatre Festival) in Mérida, in which he danced with Julio Bocca and María Giménez

On 24th and 25th of January Amargo presents ÍNTIMO in Abu Dhabi, a flamenco performance which unites the most purist elements of his art with the contemporary style he is famous for. Unlike in his previous acclaimed productions, like POETA EN NUEVA YORK, AMARGO, EL AMOR BRUJO, ENRAMBLAO and DQ…PASAJERO EN TRÁNSITO, Rafael Amargo here creates an absolutely intimate, magical experience that takes his audience straight to the heart of Flamenco: pure, passionate and unforgettable.
