Egypt & Oman Activate Joint Business Council to Develop Trade Ties

Sheikh Yousef bin Ya'aqoub al Harthy, Head of the Omani side in the Omani-Egyptian Business Council met at Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) today with the Egyptian Diplomatic delegation currently visiting the Sultanate.

The two sides reviewed the historic relations and joint cooperation between the two countries. They also underlined the fundamental role to be played by the diplomat, which is not restricted to the joint political ties but goes furthest to promote his country's trade relations.

The two sides also stressed the importance of activating Omani-Egyptian Joint Business Council's role to organize and develop trade ties between businessmen and businesswomen in both countries.

The two sides also agreed to hold joint meetings to discuss means of promoting economic and trade ties between the Sultanate and Egypt. The Egyptian delegation was briefed on the services provided by OCCI to the business sector in and out the Sultanate.

The meeting was attended by Abdul Adhim bin Abas al Bahrani, OCCI Director General, members of the Egyptian Diplomatic Corp and a number of Omani businessmen and businesswomen.(ONA)
