Lebanon - ISESCO to hold second Arab university youth meeting on environment

The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) has joined up with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) and the Arts, Sciences and Technology University in Lebanon to hold the second Arab university youth meeting on the environment in Beirut, from 27 through 30 April.

The meeting, to be held under the patronage of the environment minister of Lebanon, aims to increase participation of Arab university youth in environment preservation, expand youth awareness about environmental issues, provide an environmentally-sensitive framework for the implementation of small and medium youth projects, and examine ways to involve small and medium-sized businesses in project implementation using renewed energy sources.

The 50 Arab university youth gathering in this meeting will focus on several youth and environment-related issues.

ISESCO’s representative in this event, Mr Mustapha Eid, will make a presentation titled “Guide for Arab Youth on Environment Conservation”, published by ISESCO, the Arab League and UNEP.
