ADACH - More than 14 artists from 8 countries to perform in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi – The Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH) announced today artist line up for the third season of Sounds of Arabia Festival, to kick off on May 6 and continue until 16th.

The festival organised by ADACH is dedicated to highlight authentic Arabic music and singing as part of ADACH strategic plane to revive Arab deep rooted culture.

The third seassion of the festival brings together top singers from the region alongside new talents that are supported by ADACH in a step to pass authentic singing from one generation to another.

Abdulla Al Ameri, Director of Culture and Arts Department in ADACH said “this year the festival returns with more than 14 artist and musicians from 8 countries, which are: UAE, Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Iran, morocco, Tunisia and Egypt”.

The festival concerts will take place at Emirates Palace Auditorium and Abu Dhabi Theater on breakwater in Abu Dhabi.

Al Ameri stressed that such festivals crowns ADACH role under the supervision of General H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, crown prince of Abu Dhabi and deputy supreme commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to highlight emirati heritage in arts and culture and preserve it in balance with presenting world musical masterpieces in the capital. the festival come inline with emirati deep rooted trend to interaction with world deferent cultures and arts.

The opening night of the festival will spotlight on Arabian Gulf music performed by Emirati singer Saeed Al Salim and Tunisian singer Lotfi Bouchnak with Emirati musical band.

The festival will present magical concerts that reminds of the beautiful era of Arab Music. Among the artist Egyptian oud player Mustafa Said, famous for his unique method in playing oud mixing deferent schools together to create his own voice.

Ahmed Kaboor, the highly popular Lebanese singer and oud-player.

The popular Egyptian singer ,Medhat Saleh, will perform with orchestra lead by maestro Amro Saleem.

Syrian clarinet-virtuoso, composer and arranger Kinan Azmeh, will perform with Hiwar musical band. The main singer in Hiwar band, Dima Orsho, renowned for her skilled, extremely beautiful voice, who will bring along with them other virtuoso Syrian and American musicians. They gently work on exploring ties between the great classical Arab traditions and contemporary music.

Lebanese singer Rima Khcheich will perform for the first time in the UAE with the Dutch Yuri Honing Trio

The capital will host Algerian Nassima Chabane ,the fervent ambassador of the Andalusian Sufi music and other musical traditions of the Maghreb.

The festival will present also “the rapture of Arab Tarab” Sabah Fakhri, alongside Morocan singer Karima who will perform with the Mesto Orchestra.

In addition to all the festival will present the virtuoso oud- and violin master Simon Shaheen, of Palestinian origin, living in New York.

Among the new voices, the festival will present Waed Bouhassoun one of the most promising new name in classical Arab music and Aicha Redouane Moroccan born and specialised in early Egyptian and Syrian repertoire.

Also the festival will present a special Iranian night and number of workshops in collaboration with Beit Al Oud Al Arabi, Zayed University, Sorbonne –Abu Dhabi University and New York Film Academy.
