Kuwait in Egypt: Strong ties & joint characteristics

Kuwaiti Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Dr. Mohammed Al-Afasi stressed on the strength of relations between his country and Egypt which have many joint characteristics.

Al-Afasi expressed, to reporters here, his happiness for the opening of the 6th "Kuwait in Egypt" exhibition which came as response to directions from HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
The minister described the Kuwaiti-Egyptian relations as "historic and special," adding that they were based on very deep brotherly ties.

Egypt and Kuwait have many joint characteristics, he said, praising the historic stances of Egypt regarding Arab issues in general and Kuwaiti issues in particular.
The great acceptance the exhibition witnessed reflects the love of the Egyptian people to Kuwait and its people, he noted.

On his part, Egypt's Minister of Social Security Dr. Ali Al-Mosailhi said at the opening of the exhibition that Kuwaiti-Egyptian political and economic relations were strong.

Egypt and Kuwait coordinate with each other regarding social and development policies, he pointed out.

He praised Kuwaiti products presented at the exhibition.
He said he inaugurated several exhibitions, adding that this Kuwaiti exhibition was special and showed joint Kuwaiti-Egyptian investments.

He expressed hope that more exhibitions would be held here and that cultural, intellectual, and economic exchange continues between the two countries.

On his part, Kuwaiti ambassador in Cairo Dr. Rashid Al-Hamad told reporters that the Egyptian-Kuwaiti relations are at their climax at all levels, noting the growth and development of these ties both at official and popular levels.

Further, Al-Hamad said in a statement to the Kuwait Agency on the sidelines of the exhibition titled "Kuwait in Egypt" in its sixth edition that there is a continuing coordination between Egyptian and Kuwaiti leaderships as well as exchanging views on current affairs.

He went on to say that this also includes bringing visions closer in the meetings and discussions on various topics that concern the two countries.

Al-Hamad pointed out that Egyptian-Kuwaiti ties in the fields of private sector saw a great activity as well among investment, commerce and property institutions.
As for the "Kuwait in Egypt" exhibition which entered its sixth year and is organized by Al-Jabriya Exhibitions Group, Al-Hamad said that it came out in the best manner like the previous years in which it saw big successes at all levels.

He also noted that this year's exhibition included further advanced Kuwaiti firms and corporations and there was great variety in its activities to which a lot of official and popular Kuwaiti bodies contributed.

Al-Hamad added "we used to mark the opening this exhibition every year as an economic and media celebration where a lot of official high-level experts are present as well as those interested in economic affairs and the future relations between the two countries." Furthermore, Al-Hamad hailed the great role played by chairman of the Al-Jabriya Group Ahmad Ismail Behbehani and his aides in order to make this occasion a success and upgrade it. This also comes in line with the deep-seated ties between the two countries and serves the development of trade and economic exchange between them, he added.

Meanwhile, head of the Kuwait Journalists Association (KJA) Ahmad Youssef Behbehani expressed his congratulations for the exhibition's organizers for this big success achieved for the sixth consecutive year.

Behbehani also believed that this remarkable success of the exhibition asserts keenness on the distinctive organization in form and content as well as an interest in developing Egyptian-Kuwaiti ties.

He also affirmed that the KJA was interested in taking part in this exhibition over its six editions, showing his pride in holding such Kuwaiti commercial and media event on the Egyptian soil and the warm welcome which he received from his Egyptian brothers.

On other hand, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Dr. Rashid Al-Tabtabaei expressed his happiness for participating in the functions of this Kuwaiti exhibition in Egypt, saying that it is a media, economic and social event that features the most important achievements in Kuwait in all fields and sectors.

He noted that continuity of such event is a proof of Kuwait's interest with all its institutions on featuring its achievements before the Egyptian people in order to strengthen bilateral ties and activate trade and investment cooperation.

Additionally, he described this exhibition as " an opportunity" for making Egyptian brothers acquainted with life in Kuwait with all its economic, social, media and cultural aspects in what consolidates the ties of love and friendship between the two countries.

He also revealed that Kuwait is one the most Arab countries investing in Egypt, particularly as the Kuwaiti private sector plays a big investment role in Egypt, especially in the fields of tourism, industry and real estate.

Al-Tabtabaei also said that there is a big percentage of Kuwaiti business people who want to invest in projects in Egypt due to its stability and the good investment atmosphere currently enjoyed by it.

For his part, Egyptian Minister of Education Dr. Ahmed Zaki Badr haild in a statement to KUNA the splendid and distinctive organization of this Kuwaiti exhibition in Egypt, expressing his thanks for the organizers of such trade and cultural event.

Badr also said that this exhibition is a good opportunity for displaying the economic, media and educational boom enjoyed by the State of Kuwait under its wise leadership.

He also expressed his thanks for Al-Jabriya Exhibitions Group and the embassy of the State of Kuwait in Egypt and all Kuwaiti bodies participating in the exhibition.

Finally, Badr pointed out that the participation of this big number of Kuwaiti ministries and state and private bodies asserts the significance of such Kuwaiti investment event in Egypt and epitomizes the civilizational feature of the State of Kuwait. (KUNA)
