Morocco_Peru_Pledge_To_Enhance_Bilateral_Relations
Morocco and Peru pledged to boost their bilateral relations during talks held between visiting Moroccan Secretary of State to the Foreign Ministry, Youssef Amrani, and several senior Peruvian officials.

The Moroccan official held a working session with Peruvian Vice-Foreign Minister, Nestor Popolizio, and met with several Peruvian MPs, a statement of Morocco’s embassy in Peru said.

During these meetings, the two parties examined different aspects of bilateral relations and discussed regional and international issues of common interest.

They welcomed the positive evolution of their bilateral ties, stressing the need to give a new impetus to economic and trade relations and strengthen coordination at the level of international authorities.

The Moroccan delegation also voiced support to Lima’s holding, in February 2011, of the 3rd South American-Arab Countries Summit. The two sides agreed to combine efforts for the success of this important bi-regional meeting.

Regarding the Sahara issue, the Peruvian officials expressed their country’s appreciation for Morocco’s untiring efforts to find a political solution to this regional conflict, within the framework of the United Nations.

During their stay in Lima, the Moroccan delegation visited the headquarters of Peruvian Congress, where they held working sessions with chairman of Peru-Moroccan friendship parliamentary group, Luis Gonzales Posada, and chairwoman of Peru's foreign relations commission, Luisa Cuculiza.

Talks focused on the latest development in the Sahara issue and the means to bolster ties between the two countries’ legislative institutions.(MAP)
