Cameroon (Douala) - Morocco's Fédération nationale de l'électricité et de l'électronique (FENELEC) and Cameroon's Association des entreprises d'électricité et d'eau (ASELEEC) signed, on Monday in Douala, Cameroon, an agreement to promote their partnership ties in the electricity sector.

The agreement, signed on the sidelines of the business forum held as part of Export Caravan (May 16-22), aims at identifying and clearing up all obstacles to trade of goods and services related to electricity, as well as promoting financial, technical and commercial partnership.

Under the agreement, the two parties shall also identify partnership and cooperation opportunities likely to enhance both countries' economic and social development, promote Cameroonian firms in Morocco and hold business meetings and debates on issues of common interest.

The two parties have also agreed to make every effort to achieve the goals defined by this agreement.

The FENELEC gathers 200 structured enterprises, with a total of nearly 65.000 people.

In 2007, the annual turnover of these enterprises stood at around 4 billion euros. (MAP)
