Oman - Jawharat Muscat vessel embarks at Malaysia

Malaysia (George Town) - Jawharat Muscat vessel 'Jewel of Muscat' ship arrived today in it's third leg of it's historical voyage to Singapore. The ship initiated it's voyage as per the royal orders of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said.

On it's arrival at George Town Port, 'Jewel of Muscat' was received by Aflah bin Sulaiman al Ta'ei, Sultanate's ambassador to Malaysia, Liyowtha bint Sultan al Mughairiyah, head of the Foreign Ministry Secretary General's Office Department and team leader of 'Jewel of Muscat' Project and a number of Malaysian officials.

The Malaysian traditional folke troupes performed a number of traditional dances welcoming the ship crew. The Omani and Malaysian officials exchanged souvenirs and speeches.

For her part, Liyowtha bint Sultan al Mughairiyah, said that the 'Jewel of Muscat' voyage aims to promote the spirit of love and peace, highlight Oman's trade and maritime history aimed to establish communications and peace with people of the world.

Saleh al Jabri, captain of the 'Jewel of Muscat' gave a speech on the ship's voyage, the hard times it experienced in the sea since it's departure from Muscat till it's arrival in George Town Port. He said that the seamen are determined to continue with ship's voyage until it reaches Singapore, it's final destination. (ONA)
