Egypt Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif inaugurated Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST).

In statements during the inauguration, Nazif said Egypt has ambitious plan to advance its science and technology sectors, underlining the importance of increased cooperation with Japan to serve Egypt's goals.

Egypt has skillful cadres that are capable of making it take a quantum leap in scientific and technological research fields, he said in his address at the official inauguration ceremony.

E-JUST is a unique project that reflects the strength of relations between Egypt and Japan. E-JUST is the fruition of a partnership between the governments of Egypt and Japan.

The implementation of this pioneer project started in August 2008.

It has been decided to start a postgraduate program in September 2009 at a temporary location in Mubarak City for Science and Technology Applications (MuCSAT) and for the fully-fledged operation of both the undergraduate and postgraduate programs to start in September 2001.

Prime Minister Nazif received in Smart Village office Thursday 03/06/2010 JICA chief Sadako Ogata.

During the meeting, Nazif voiced appreciation of Japan's role in supporting development efforts.

Nazif also cited the various projects which were implemented between the two countries.

Premier Nazif also lauded efforts exerted by JICA in establishing Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST).

The two sides discussed means of opening up new vistas of cooperation in Africa, Cabinet Spokesman Magdi Radi said. (SIS)
