Al-aoula channel: Morocco, EU cooperation in housing and tourism sectors

The EU’s efforts to support Morocco dealing with the problem of unhealthy housing and upgrading its tourism sector will be the focus of a magazine produced by the EU-funded project EuroMed News and to be broadcast by Al-aoula channel.

An announcement said the programme, to be shown on 12 June at 7.15 pm local time, will report on ambitious programmes that have been launched throughout the kingdom in partnership with the European union to get rid of slums and allow Moroccans to live in a healthy environment. The report focuses on the towns of Temara and Skhirate which have benefited from this programme.

The second item of the magazine shows the support of the EU to Morocco in the Tourism sector through training sessions provided to tourism higher schools throughout Morocco, with a focus on the Founty institute in Aghadir, one of the schools which benefited from this programme.

The EuroMed-News project aims to broaden knowledge about the EU's policies in the region and the relationship between the EU and individual Mediterranean countries. Spearheaded by France Télévisions, it brings together broadcasters in Europe and in Algeria, Jordan, Libya, Syria, Morocco and Lebanon. Together, they will produce 300 news features, 40 short current affairs programmes and nine 26-minute documentaries.

EuroMed-News is funded under the European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument (ENPI) through EuropeAid’s €19 million Regional Information and Communication Programme.
