Mitsubishi: Egypt, Japan cooperating in electricity sector
Egyptian Electricity and Energy Minister Hassan Yunis held talks with the deputy CEO of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries on ways to boost cooperation with the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company.

Talks covered Mitsubishi's plans to establish a specialized company for maintenance work at gas-fueled thermal generator units to serve power generation stations in Egypt and across the entire Arab world and to be a center for maintenance and training for all workers in the sector.

Egypt has cooperated with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries before in the provision and fixing of some of the units operating at some Egyptian power stations, Yunis said.

The two sides also discussed Egypt's projects to use solar energy in generating electricity and establish a center for manufacturing the components of solar power plants to serve the region in harnessing solar energy and making the optimal use of it to meet its growing energy needs. (SIS)
