Syria: Investment Forum Calls for Setting up Joint Arab Free Zone

Syria (Damascus) - The 3rd Investment Forum in the Free Zones wrapped up activities on Monday with a set of recommendations stressing the importance of free zones as an open gate to attract investments as well as domestic and Arab capitals.

The recommendations referred to the role of free trade zones in increasing the trade exchange volume, enhancing comprehensive economic development and activating investment in various trade, industrial and service sectors.

The final statement pointed to the importance of the joint free zones as a real nucleus for the joint Arab market and Arab economic integration. It called upon institutions and official bodies to support the free zones to enhance economic integration.

The 2-day conference discussed the free zones' role in economy development and increasing trade exchange volume and investment in Syria, and the role of logistics in enhancing the performance of free zones. (SANA)
