Oman preparing to host for Asian Beach Games

Oman (Muscat) (ONA)--- The 2nd Muscat Asian Beach Games Organising Committee (MABGOC) 2010 pointed out in an expanded press conference held today that it would organize several meetings and workshops starting from tomorrow (Monday) till next Wednesday. Asian and Olympic delegations would participate in these meetings and workshops that would lead to recommendations to the International Olympic Committee.

At the first day, there will be seminar for Olympic Council of Asia Regional forums (OS/OCA Regional forums) followed by the preparatory meeting for the registration in Asian Games Guangzhou In the second day, there will be a seminar for the Asian Olympic Council, as well as, the preparatory meeting for the registration in the Asian Games Guangzhou, in addition to, a field visit to Al Musannah Sports City. In the final third day, there will be a meeting for the directors of the delegations participating in the 2nd Asian Beach Games followed by a press conference for the 2nd Beach Games Organising Committee.

Hilal al-Sinani, Deputy Director General of the Tournament Operations said that the meetings would cover several issues including the settlements of sports disagreements, sports arbitration, as well as, the relations between the International Olympic Committee and the member national Olympic committees. These meetings would include lectures to be delivered by a number of Olympic authenticated experts.

The rest of the meetings would focus on the registration procedures and promotion for the Asian and world competitions, as well as, the mechanisms of the technical and administrative participations. The meeting of the directors of the delegations participating in the 2nd Muscat Asian Beach Games will precedes these meetings, during which all the details concerning the Sultanate's host to the competition, rules and conditions of participation ,as well as, the facilities provided by the organizing committee will be discussed in details. It will also include information about the playgrounds and the accommodations in Al Musannah Sports City and other sites in Muscat Governorate.

On the sidelines of the press conference, a photo exhibition for the 14 games of the 2nd Muscat Asian Beach Games was launched. (ONA)
