Visemar ship – Carries Italian Tourists and Syrian Exports to EU

Syria (Tartous) - Italian ship 'Visemar One' on Sunday docked at Tartous Port, carrying 180 tourists along with their own families and cars.

Head of Tartous Tourist Department Rajaa Zeidan said "it is the eighth cruise of the ship since inaugurating the first sea lane (Visemar lane) between Venice and Tartous on May 23rd."

She pointed out that the passengers are to visit a number of tourist and archeological sites in Syria and Lebanon.

Head of Customs Clearance Agency Nidaa haj Saheh said refrigerated fruits and vegetables are sent from Syria to the Italian market as a step forwards to exmport agricultural products to the Italian and European markets. Visemar One arrives in Syrian coasts every week on Sunday.

It contains 90 four-star rooms, 360 beds, two restaurants and a cinema. Passengers could take their cars with them when they travel between Syria and Italy or Syria and Egypt.

The ship carries Syrian exports to Venice, passing through Alexandria until it reaches the European states.(SANA)
