Morocco, Spain to strengthen livestock farming cooperation

Madrid - Morocco and Spain have agreed to bolster their livestock farming cooperation by intensifying data and experience sharing, notably in terms of organizing vocational training, increasing productions and promoting animal health.

The two parties agreed, during the 2nd Moroccan-Spanish meeting on livestock farming cooperation, to give special attention to coordinating their strategies as part of the Mediterranean Network for Animal Health (REMESA), Spain's Environment, Rural and Marine Affairs ministry said in a statement.

The meeting also examined several issues related to livestock farming, including the sectors of livestock health, milk production and beekeeping, the same source added.

The 1st Moroccan-Spanish meeting on livestock farming cooperation took place in June 2009 in Rabat.

The two meetings are part of the 2008 Moroccan-Spanish memorandum of understanding on livestock farming cooperation and mutual assistance.(MAP)
