Muscat Asian Beach Games highlights Oman's cultural and natural features

Oman (Muscat) - Muscat Asian Beach Games Organising Committee 2010 (MABGOC) concluded its meetings with all the participating national Olympic committees.

The meetings were headed by Hussein Al-Musallam, Chairman of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), Eng. Habib bin Abdulnabi Macki, MABGOC Director General, Jizong Wei, OCA Honorary Life Vice President, Zhang Jilong, Chairman of OCA Sports Committee and Dr. Manikavasagam Jegathesan, Chairman of OCA Medical Committee.

During the press conference that was held at the conclusion of the meetings, a brief summary was given about the results of the two-day meetings and the discussions. These meetings included the meetings of the Olympic Solidarity, the International Olympic Committee and the OCA Continental Forum, in addition to, visits to the sites of the competition, as well as, a seminar for the heads of the participating missions in MABGOC 2010.

Eng. Habib bin Abdulnabi Macki, MABGOC Director General stated in the inaugural speech for the meeting of the heads of the participating missions today that the joint work in the preparatory final stage for the beach games would have a vital and significant role in making these preparations successful.

"Our joint work as one team would undoubtedly contribute in making the efforts successful for completing of the necessary services and requirements of the tournament," he added.

Habib also stated that hosting such events on the level of the Asian continent would be a good opportunity for casting light upon the Sultanate's cultural features, as well as, its unique attractive landmarks and nature.

It is worth mentioning that the seminar of the heads of the missions has provided valuable information for all the Olympic national committees that would transfer such information to their national teams during their final preparations for the participation in the tournament. (ONA)
