Egypt, Jordan discuss Arab gas line and petroleum cooperation
Egypt Minister of Petroleum Sameh Fahmi has received Jordanian Minister of Energy and Mineral Wealth Khaled al-Irani and his accompanying delegation in the presence of Jordanian ambassador to Egypt Hani al-Molqi.

They discussed joint cooperation projects carried out through the Arab gas line and also tackled means to expand cooperation in new fields especially in the oil, natural gas and mineral wealth domains.

Fahmi said that he discussed with the Jordanian minister means to develop the Arab gas pipeline as one of the strategic and economic projects to be an Arab gas network and to be linked later to the European gas network.

Establishement of the first Petroleum services company in Sinai

Minister of Petroleum Sameh Fahmi said on July 13th 2010 that Sinai residents will constitute 50 percent of the workforce of the first company for petroleum services based in Sinai.

Fahmi's statements came after he issued directives on the establishment of a Sinai-based company to provide all kinds of petroleum-related services to petroleum projects operating in the peninsula.

The new company will dig wells, build warehouses, supply chemical substances, and provide equipment and maintenance for the petroleum companies, the minister said in statements.

The company will be headed by a Sinai resident, he said.

The head of the company's human resources department will be from Sinai too. (SIS, Petra)
