Egypt Minister of Electricity and Energy Hassan Younis and visiting Nigerian Minister of Science and Technology Mohammed K. Abubakar discussed means of bolstering cooperation in renewable energy.

During the meeting, Younis reviewed Egypt’s electricity strategy and the country’s steps to increase the renewable energy’s contribution to the country’s energy output.

The country’s plan aims to ratchet up the renewable energy output to account for 20 percent of the country’s overall output by 2020, Younis said.

Nigeria voiced willingness to benefit from Egypt’s expertise in the renewable energy filed.

Abubakar also expressed admiration at achievements in the Egyptian electricity sector.(SIS)
