Syria Encouraging Turkish Investment in Joint Project

Damascus, (SANA)- Chairman of Damascus Chamber of Commerce Ghassan al-Qallaa stressed the importance of benefiting from Turkey's economic experience in the process of developing service sectors in Syria.

Al-Qallaa was speaking during a meeting between the Chamber's members and a delegation of the Turkish companies participating in Damascus International Fair in its 57th edition, held currently in Damascus.

Both sides discussed means to open new prospects of cooperation, with Turkish businessmen encouraged to increase investments in Syria in light of the many signed agreements and the great progress achieved in the economic relations between Syria and Turkey.

Al-Qallaa invited Turkish businessmen to take part in the Syrian Investment Conference due to be held in Istanbul by the end of July so as to be informed on the new investment opportunities and public-private partnerships available in Syria.

He pointed out that deliberations are underway to establish a Syrian-Turkish bank to provide financing to the projects and consulting activities undertaken by businessmen of both countries.

For his part, Head of the Board of Adana Chamber of Commerce Saban Bas stressed the need for intensifying joint work to overcome the obstacles hindering the bilateral trade cooperation and to open the door for more joint investments.
