Saudi Arabia, Egypt sign agreement on space science

Egypt and Saudi Arabia has signed a memorandum of understanding on remote sensing and space sciences cooperation.

Head of the Egyptian National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences Dr Ayman al-Desouki and Nabil ben Amin of the Saudi authority for specifications and quality signed the accord.

The agreement is aimed at promoting joint action in the domain of space sciences and remote sensing research, said Desouki in statements at the signing ceremony. It is also aimed at exchanging expertise and information on this score, he added.

It is worth mentioning that the latest report issued by the World Bank mentioned that Egypt's economy ranks 42nd among 192 countries at the world level.

The report said Egypt's gross domestic product (GDP) in 2009 amounted to 188.3 billion dollars making Egypt rank third among Arab countries after Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

Egyptian Cabinet spokesman Magdi Radi said Wednesday’s cabinet meeting tackled the latest international reports on Egypt's economy.(SIS)
