Egypt: Exports to Germany up $ 437 million by 18 % increase

The latest report by Foreign Trade Unit of Trade and industry ministry said Egypt’s exports to Germany went up by 18 percent from January to May this year compared to exports of the same period last year 2009.

This is according to figures released by the European Union as Egypt’s exports to Germany during this brood reached $437 million against $370 million during the same period last year.

Imports from Germany rose as well by 21 percent from January to May this year compared to the same period last year. Imports from Germany reached almost $1.7 billion against $1.4 billion the same period last year.

Dr. Fouad Eissa trade and Industry undersecretary said the increase of Egypt’s exports to Germany contributed to raising the volume of trade exchange by almost 20 recent during the period in Question, to reach $2.147 billion against $1.785 billion during the same period last year. (SIS)
