Syria, Yemen discuss economic, trade and investment cooperation

Yemen (Sana'a) - Director of the Syrian Prime Minister's Office Tayseer al-Zoubi said on Tuesday the regular meetings of the Syrian-Yemeni Higher Committee provide good opportunities to review the close relations between the two countries.

Al-Zoubi's words came during a meeting of the preparatory committee of the Syrian-Yemeni Higher Committee due to be held in its 10th session on Saturday in the Yemeni capital Sana'a.

Chaired by al-Zoubi from the Syrian side and Deputy Minister of planning and International Cooperation Hisham Sharaf Abdalla from the Yemeni side, the preparatory committee discussed the topics listed on the agenda of the Higher Committee and the agreements to be signed.

During the meeting, five specialized committees were formed, including a committee on economic, trade, and investment cooperation. The second committee discusses cooperation in international cooperation and planning, local administration, sanitation, environment, water and communications.

The third committee is dedicated to cultural, scientific and artistic cooperation. The fourth committee is on security, consular, legal and judicial cooperation, and the fifth deals with formulating the draft minutes of the Higher Committee's 10th session.
