Morocco to invest $ 3 billion in railways expanding
Morocco (Rabat ) - Morocco's railways office (ONCF) will invest 3.8 billion dollars (33 bln dirhams) to fund its development program for 2010-2015, against 18 bln dirhams between 2005-2009.

The program provides for transporting 50 million travelers, and as much goods by 2015, says the office's 2009 annual report.

It noted that the 2005-2009 program was properly implemented and that 97% of the forecast projects were carried out, adding that about 30 million passengers were carried in 2009, versus 21 million in 2005.

It underlined that the average yearly tonnage transported between 2005-2009 reached 32 million tonnes, that is an annual growth of 3%.
