Lebanon, Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company strengthen cooperation

Lebanon Environment Minister, Mohammad Rahhal, placed on Friday the final touches on the agreement signed between the Ministry of Environment and Abu Dhabi's Future Energy Company "Masdar" to fortify cooperation between both sides and to strengthen national authorities following up Kyoto Protocol linked to the United Nations agreement on climate change.

Rahal met for this purpose with a visiting delegation from Abu Dhabi's "Masdar" including the company's Executive Director Sam Nader, and the Director of Integrated Carbon Company Christopher Siriani. The Minister's consultant, Director of the United Nations Water and Energy Development Program, Edgard Shalhoub, was also present.

The Minister discussed a forestation project in different Lebanese areas and villages with a delegation from Deir Kamar, Fawara, Moutella, Saadnayel, and Arsal Municipalities. The Minister discussed with his visitors a forestation project of more than 40,000 meters by each Municipality.
