Egyptian Prime Minister Dr Ahmed Nazif attends Tuesday the launching of the first two river cargo ships built up by the maritime arsenal in Alexandria.

The arsenal won a tender presented by Al Qalaa Company to construct 16 ships to operate in the River Nile.

The two ships, to be handed over to the Holding Company for Maritime and Inland Transport at a large celebration to be held next week, are aimed at promoting trade between Egypt and Sudan through the River Nile and transporting commodities to African states and particularly the Nile Basin countries.
