Oman awards $ 128 million tenders for development projects

Oman (Muscat) - The Tender Board today held its 20th meeting for 2010 under the chairmanship of Dr. Ali bin Mohammed bin Moosa, Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank of Oman (CBO) Board of Governors and Chairman of the Tender Board.

The Board awarded $ 128 million (RO.49,266,276 ) worth tenders for the following projects.

1- Supply of medicines for the Ministry of Health (RO.14,536,187).

2- Management and operation of the water services at Sohar Industrial Port (RO.7,998,571).

3- Design and construction of internal roads in Jarziz Farm lay out in Dhofar Governorate (RO.5,688,788).

4- Expansion of the 3G of NGN for Oman Telecommunications Company (RO.3,112,316).

5- Game Display for the 2nd Asian Beach Games (RO.1,903,687).

6- Updating of the air-conditioning and cooling systems at the Royal Hospital (RO.1,706,670).

7- Rehabilitation of the protection system on the power grid (132 kv and 220 kv) in Muscat Governorate for Oman Electricity Transmission Company (RO.1,637,074).

8- Operation and maintenance of the tools and equipment at the health centres affiliated to the Ministry of Health in the Al Dhahirah Region (RO.1,105,878).

9- Additional works for the design and implementation of internal roads in the Wilayat of Al Mesanaa in the Al Batinah Region (RO.909,416).

10- Construction of Wadi Al Jizi school for basic education for males (10 classrooms) at Wadi AL Jizi in the Wilayat of Sohar in the Al Batinah Region (RO.803,711).

11- Leveling the land of the Research Council, North East of Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) (RO.792,824).

12- Additional works for the construction of sanitary drainage water network and treatment plant in the Wilayat of Sumail (RO.622,531).

13- Additional works for the construction of 173 housing units, a mosque, a house for the Imam and a building for the municipality in Hasik City (RO.593,748).

14- Supply and installation of 11 cooling devices at the Royal Hospital( RO.580,200).

15- Construction of Al Ghamb and Al Jahl road in the Niyabat of Tiwi in the Wilayat of Sur in the Al Sharqiyah Region (RO.543,000).

16- Supply and installation of the land support units for the different sites of Oman Mobile in the Sultanate (RO.500,000).

17- Additional works for the construction of Jabir Bin Zaid school (34 classrooms) in Al Wattiyah in the Wilayat of Muttrah in Muscat Governorate (RO.486,562).

18- Additional works for the sanitary drainage network in the Wilayat of A'Rustaq, second stage (RO. 486,344).

19- Additional works for the water supply project in the wilayats of A'Rustaq, Al Awabi, Wadi Al Ma'awel and Al Mesanaa (RO.364,915).

20- Supply of 4WD vehicles for the Ministry of Justice (RO.351,000).

21- Additional works for the provision of consultancy services for the design andsupervision of water supply project to the Niyabat of Al Jabal Al Akhdhar in the Wilayat of Nizwa (RO.286,031).

22- Additional works for the construction of water treatment network in the Niyabat of Al Jabal Al Akhdhar (Seeq & Al Sharaija villages) (RO.271,302).

23- Construction of a house for the Wali ofQuriyat in Muwaighit area in the Wilayat of Quriyat in Muscat Governorate (RO.258,664).

24- Additional works for the construction of Al Sa'ada Sports Complex in Salalah (RO.257,871).

25- Supply and installation of medical equipment for the Royal Hospital (RO.254,780).

26- Paving of the dust road in the Al Jabal Al Akhdhar in the Wilayat of Nizwa in the Al Dakhiliyah Region (RO.198,000)

27- Additional works for the construction of 72 housing units and public utilities in Al Fai village in the Wilayat of Mahdha in the Al Buraimi Governorate (RO.187,488).

The Board opened bids for the following tenders:

1- Tender No. 115/2010, the infrastructure project for Al Duqum Port (first stage), the main road and water discharge canal.

2- Tender No. 155/2010, the construction of Al Duqum Hotel.

3- Tender No. 165/2010, water supply project to the Wilayat of Wadi Bani Khalid in the Al Sharqiyah Region.

4- Tender No. 206/2010, supply and installation of medical chemical solution for the Royal Hospital.

5- Tender No. 208/2010, provision of the consultancy services for preparing the amended comprehensive lay out for Sur Industrial Estate.

The Board also approved a number of Variation Orders related to the on-going projects, reviewed a number of topics related to projects referred by ministries and governmental departments and took appropriate decisions in their regard.
