Morocco: German market, significant destination for agricultural exports

Berlin - The German market is an important destination for Morocco's agricultural exports, the German Weekly magazine, Der Spiegel, quoted, on Wednesday, agriculture and fisheries Minister Aziz Akhannouch as saying.

"Morocco's agricultural products meet the standards to which German consumers attach a big importance,” said Akhannouch, who took part at Berlin's leading fruits and vegetables fair, Fruit Logistica.

He underlined that Morocco's agricultural exports undergo meticulous quality control, adding that Morocco's food-industry does not use large quantities of fertilizers in comparison to the volume allowed by the EU.

The Minister also showcased the Green Morocco Plan, which was adopted two years ago with the aim of developing the agricultural sector’s competitiveness and fighting poverty in rural areas.
