African Development Bank offers € 203 million for water supply in Morocco

Rabat - Morocco and the African Development Bank (AfDB) signed, on Thursday in Rabat, loan agreements, worth 203 million Euros, on the project of reinforcing drinking water supply in the coastal zone of Rabat-Casablanca.

The project, which is part of the investment programme of Morocco's water utility (ONEP) for the period 2008-2010, aims at improving socio-economic and health conditions of 5.5 million people in the axis of Kenitra-El Jadida, by securing drinking water supply in urban and rural areas.

To date, the AfDB's investments in Morocco amount to 755 million Euros.
