Germany: Shabab Oman Participates at Bremerhaven Tall Ship Festival

Germany (Bremerhaven) - The Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) Ship "Shabab Oman," took part in Bremerhaven Festival during August 25th to 30th as part of its participations' programme in the European events and festivals for this year.

During its participation, ''Shabab Oman'' received a noticeable admiration from organizers and the audience visiting "Sail Bremerhaven 2010 Festival," which is the last destination for ''Shabab Oman'' Ship before the return voyage.

During Bremerhaven International Tall Ship Festival, a number of sport and cultural activities were organized, as well as, exchanging visits of participant ships' captains and their crews. RNO Ship's crew took part in a number of sport and cultural competitions and activities, in addition to, infantry parades for crews of the participant ships in Bremerhaven city streets.

The ship also welcomed members of the public in Bremerhaven Port. Visitors met with the ship's crew during which they viewed its exhibits, models and craft industries, as well as, pictures and booklets that depict the life of the Omani man.

The number of the ship's visitors in Bremerhaven Port stood at 21,000 from different nationals in the city, which is the highest figure for the number of visitors in one port as compared to the ports visited by the ship. The number of the ship's visitors hit up to now 152,000.

It is envisaged that the Ship "Shabab Oman," will set sail to Vigo Port in Spain to prepare for its return to home. It is expected to arrive in Said bin Sultan's Naval Base on forthcoming October
