Oman, Singapore enhancing relations, encouraging joint investments

Oman (Muscat) - Oman and Singapore have reviewed aspects of the existing cooperation in a number of fields and developing relations. Both sides affirmed their keenness to activating agreements signed between the two countries, implementing a number of projects and encouraging the private sector for joint investment, in addition to, supporting training fields and expertise exchange.

Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud al Said, Oman Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers received Teo Chee Hean, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Minster in-charge of the Civil Service in the Republic of Singapore.

The Singaporean official conveyed greetings of President Sellapan Ramanathan of Singapore to HM Sultan Qaboos bin Said along with his best wishes to His Majesty, his Government and the Omani people.

Sayyid Fahd welcomed the guest and his accompanying delegation. He commended the level of growing relations between the two friendly countries and the remarkable progress witnessed by such relations during the past years, which highlights both sides' attention to work for the two peoples' interest.

The guest expressed his delight and that of his accompanying delegation for the visit and the developmental achievements they have viewed, which reflected fruits of the Omani renaissance being witnessed by the country. The Singaporean guest underlined his country's appreciation to the balanced policy pursued by the Sultanate under the leadership of His Majesty the Sultan at the internal and external levels.

The meeting was attended by Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud al Busaidi, Secretary General of the Foreign Ministry, Sayyid Kamil bin Fahd al Said and Teng Theng Dar, Singapore's ambassador to the Sultanate.

Manpower Minister Receives Singaporean Official

Sheikh Abdullah bin Nassir al Bakri, Manpower Minister received in his office Teo Chee Hean, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Minster in-charge of the Civil Service in the friendly Republic of Singapore, currently visiting the Sultanate.

The meeting discussed aspects of the joint cooperation between the two countries in the field of labour, technical education and vocational training and means of enhancing them to serve the common interest of the two countries.

The guest hailed the great development being witnessed in the Sultanate in various developmental fields, the efforts exerted to regulate the labour market and the partnership between the public and private sector to develop the Manpower

Minster Responsible for Defence Affairs Receives Singaporean Official

Sayyid Badr bin Saud bin Harib al Busaidi, Minster Responsible for Defence Affairs received Teo Chee Hean, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Minster in-charge of the Civil Service in the friendly Republic of Singapore.

The meeting reviewed good relations and discussed issues of common concern between the two friendly countries.

Education Minister Receives Singaporean Official

Yahya bin Saud al Sulaimi, Education Minister received in his office Teo Chee Hean, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Minister in-charge of the Civil Service in the friendly Republic of Singapore and his accompanying delegation.

The meeting touched on the relations between the two friendly countries in the education field, means of the joint cooperation between them and benefiting from the Singaporean distinguished experience in education.
