Egypt to prepare comprehensive development plan until 2050

Egypt - The Supreme Council for Planning and Urban Development decided to prepare a strategy for comprehensive development in Egypt until 2050 with the aim of drawing up a comprehensive vision for economic and social development in the country.

The plan paves the way for preparing an integrated file on the issue to be referred to a national conference to be held in this respect in the presence of local and international experts, said Cabinet spokesman Magdi Radi.

Radi said participants in the meeting stressed the importance of this strategy in view of a population that continues to grow on less than 6 percent of Egypt's vast acreage.
