Jordan Requests Soft Loans From Japan to finance strategic projects

Jordan (Amman) - Jordan has requested soft loans from Japan to finance strategic projects related to the health and water sectors.

Spokesman of the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation of Jordan Essam Al-Majali told reporters here on Friday that Jordanian Planning Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan discussed with Japanese Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan Koichi Takemasa the possibility of Japan funding a number of major and strategic projects in the sectors of water and health through soft loans.

The two sides discussed as wellg in Amman bilateral cooperation program between Jordan and Tokyo for next three years, he added.

According to Al-Majali, the two sides discussed the present stage of Jordan''s executive development program for the years 2011-2013, which includes development priorities for the next phase and taking into account the interaction between policies and targets, programs and projects until the program is fully implemented in line with national goals.
