Egypt, Turkey to launch first navigation line to encourage trade

The first regular navigation line between Egyptian and Turkish ports to be launched in November, said Egyptian Trade and Industry Minister Rasheed Mohamed Rasheed.

The move is meant to facilitate and encourage trade between the two countries, he said while opening a symposium organized by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey in Istanbul.

The line will reduce travel duration to five days only, which would raise the volume of trade exchange between the two countries by 15%, and improve the competitiveness of Egyptian exports on Turkish and Russian markets, he said.
